Screen Recorder 1.4 For Mac

Not sure when this feature got added, but since this was new to me, thought this was worth sharing. Launch QuickTime Player (it’s in your Applications folder). Now select New Screen Recording from the File menu, or type control-command-N. A small screen recording window will appear, like so: Click the little triangle on the right side of the window to adjust microphone and mouse click options.

When ready, click the record button in the center of the window. Click and drag a section of the screen to record part of the screen or just click to record the entire screen.

Once you do that, click to start recording. Click the stop button that appears in the menu bar to stop recording. Pretty easy, and the end result is a QuickTime movie you can use anywhere you’d expect (iMovie, YouTube, etc.) Clearly not a method a pro would use, but if your needs are relatively simple, this is a great solution.

Sharing is done via a variety of sources i.e. FTP, ImageShack, Skype, Twitter and Picasa. You can annotate your screengrabs with text and even see a history of your screenshots taken. To extend the capabilities of JShot, you can also download from the developer site.

You can do this by downloading them and installing them to '/home/ /.jshot/plugins/uploaders.' JShot is a solid tool and for a free, multi-platform solution there are few complaints. However, there is no way of extending it to take screencasts and some of the functions are missing on Mac. JShot is an interesting screenshot tool which will be enough for most people's needs.
